On 16 October 2026, World Food Day, the University of Hohenheim will host the deab Autumn Conference at Hohenheim Palace under the theme “Global denken – lokal weiden: Für Klima, Ernährung und starke Bäuerinnen.”

The conference brings together the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and the International Year of the Woman Farmer, highlighting perspectives and knowledge that are often underrepresented in discussions on global food security.
Participants can look forward to keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops on pastoralism and global food security, biodiversity conservation, food sovereignty, as well as the political and economic dimensions of land and herding.

The event will conclude with a reception, networking and a cultural programme. The main event will be held in German.. Simultaneous German–English / English–German interpretation is planned for the morning programme.
